— The experience

Your legs set the pace. The screen does the rest.

Interactive Cycling turns a stationary bike into a racing cockpit. The moment you start pedaling, an on-screen route springs to life — rolling hills, tight corners and open straights that react in real time to exactly how hard you push.

Speed is entirely in your feet. Pedal faster and your rider surges ahead; back off and the field closes in. There are no buttons, no joysticks — just the honest relationship between effort and outcome that makes cycling one of the most intuitive sports on the planet.

Beyond pure racing, stage challenges add a puzzle layer: clear a climb within a target cadence, hold a sprint window without redlining, or string together clean corner exits for a bonus burst. Every session gives you something to beat next time.

— Why it hits different

Four reasons pedaling here beats the gym.

Safety & suitability.

Interactive Cycling is a cardio-based experience. It's accessible to most guests, but please take a moment to check the notes below before you mount up.

  • The minimum height is signposted at the bikes — seat adjustment must allow a safe leg extension before you start.
  • Not recommended if you have knee, hip or lower-back injuries, or any cardiovascular condition that restricts moderate exercise.
  • Secure or remove loose clothing, lanyards and bags before mounting to keep them clear of the pedals.
  • You can stop pedaling at any time to pause your avatar — no lock-in, no pressure to finish at intensity.
  • Arrive a few minutes early so staff can help with seat height and walk you through the route-select menu.
— Good to know

Frequently asked.

Do I need to know how to ride a real bike?

No cycling experience is required. The bike is stationary, so balance is never an issue — if you can pedal, you can play. Younger or first-time riders pick it up in under a minute.

How does speed actually work on screen?

Your pedaling cadence (how fast you spin the cranks) drives the on-screen avatar's speed directly. There are no difficulty presets — effort is the only variable, which makes races feel genuinely earned.

What is the difference between a race and a stage challenge?

Race mode puts you on a timed course trying to reach the finish line as fast as possible. Stage challenges set specific goals mid-route — such as maintaining a cadence range over a climb or hitting a sprint target — and award bonuses for nailing them.

Can two people race each other at the same time?

Please check with PLAYON staff at the venue for current multi-bike racing availability.

Is it suitable for kids?

Children who meet the height requirement signposted at the bikes and can pedal independently are welcome. The effort-driven format scales naturally — younger riders simply choose gentler routes or free-cycle without a timed stage.

Will the bike track my calories or fitness data?

The primary display is your on-screen race and leaderboard position. Check with staff on the day for any additional metrics the current software version records.
